UPCOMING CLASSES YOU WILL WANT TO TAKE

Check out this classy new bag at the Attic Window Quilt Shop.  Marilyn made it and you can make one with her when she holds her upcoming class.  Watch for the new class schedule.
Here, you can see the inside of the purse.  No one will ever guess you made it because it is so professional looking.  You can tell them it is a (your name) original!
Marilyn will also be holding a class on making this professional notebook cover.  Everything comes in a kit.
This is what the inside looks like.
Note arrow pointing to the metal corner pieces (included in kit).
Here the arrow points to the metal edges.  This really makes them durable and professional looking.

New fabric is in at the Attic Window Quilt Shop.  This collection is in just in time for you to make that table runner prior to the Fourth of July holiday.  I made a table runner with it.  You can see it here.  Call the shop for the pattern.

This Michael Miller fabric is also in at the shop.  The line is La Dee Da.   So cute!

A LITTLE OF THIS AND THAT

While at the Attic Window Quilt Shop last week I got to see Lee Anne's new bag.  It is big and roomy and I can't wait for Lee Anne to have a class on making this.  It is the Mega Bow Tucks bag.  If you can't wait for the class, you can get the pattern at the shop.
Lee Anne also made this adorable pillow.  I don't know but I bet it is a Kimberbell pattern. Call the shop if interested.

I forgot to ask because I was so busy looking at Lee Anne's pictures of her adorable first grandchild.  Congratulations Lee Anne!

Cathy previously sent me some pictures that I wanted to share with you.  Above, Adrienne shows us a zipper box that she was making.
Not exactly sure about this picture but I think Cathy took it during her El's Kitchen class.  Aren't they cute!

Not sure about these pictures either.  So sorry I can't tell you who made these lovely items, but I had to share them with you.

NEW BLOCK FOR COOKBOOK BOM

Well, you can tell I've been out of the loop lately.  This is the block the Quilt Block Cookbook BOM group was to make this month and not the one I previously announced.  I discovered my mistake when the group met Wednesday at the Attic Window Quilt Shop.  This is recipe 22 Sugarplum.

Above, the group holds up their block so I can take pictures.  Aren't they pretty!
Cathy shows us the block everyone will be making this month.  This block is recipe 25 Mayberry.

TIP:  Cathy had a nice tip for making these drunkard's path squares.  She suggested we first fold and crease the center of each of the two curve pieces of the drunkard's path square.  Then put the two pieces together, making sure the ends match.  Take a few stay stitches at each end of the curve.  Then make sure the center creases match and pin.  Now sew the curve, easing in the fabric as you sew.  This will make a perfect curve!
Thanks Cathy!!!

BEES IN THE ATTIC MEET

Jill B. was the Queen Bee when the Bees In The Attic met at the Attic Window Quilt Shop on Wednesday.  This was the final meeting for this year's group.
Jill got busy right away placing our blocks to show us how the quilt is going to look.  Because this quilt will demand more blocks than the 11 of us made, Jill made a strip of the blocks to help us visualize how it will look.  Jill is going to use the Quilt As You Go method for making this quilt.
This gives you a better view of the lay out.  We were asked to use the white fabric that Jill gave us and to add dark blue fabric where called for in the squares.
This is going to be a beauquilt with all the different blue in it.
Jill had a little surprise for us.  She said she made this quilt top years ago and was giving it to anyone who wanted it.  Peggy was the lucky person who took the quilt top home with her.  Thanks Jill!

Our group is starting another Bee, which will begin next month.  We are still looking for one more person to join us.  If you are interested in joining the group please call the shop to sign up or send me an email.  We have chosen two new books that we will be working from this year.  I'm looking forward to another fun year with the Bees In The Attic bee.

APRIL COOKBOOK BOM

Cathy had sent me pictures of last month's Quilt Block Cook Book BOM.  Above the ladies show their blocks.
A couple more show their blocks.
And some here too.  I love this block.  It is forgiving and easy to make.  I bet an entire quit made of this one block would be beautiful!  Maybe I'll have to try it.
This is the block everyone was supposed to make for this month's meeting which is Wednesday, at 11 a.m. at the Attic Window Quilt Shop. A special thank you to Cathy for making this sample block.  It was my turn to make the sample but, alas, I was could not get to my sewing machine.  Wonder what block we are to make for next month.  Stay tuned to learn more.

DON'T FORGET:
  • Bees In The Attic meets at the Attic Window Quilt Shop on Wednesday morning at 10 a.m
  • The Quilt Block Cookbook BOM meets Monday evening at the AW and also Wednesday morning at 11 a.m.

SPECIAL THANK YOU

I'm back!!!  A very special thank you to all who sent your thoughts, cards, and prayers.  I can't tell you how much it meant to me and how it helped me heal during this difficult time.  I wish I could show you all of the beautiful cards, but that would be impossible.  I do what to show you a couple of the hand made cards that I received.   Judi A. made the one above with her fancy sewing machine. So lovely.
And Jeanne B. made this beautiful card.  I admire her talent!

Again, a special thanks to all my quilting friends.  Cathy has been sending me pictures of what has been going on at the Attic Window and I will start tomorrow showing them to you.  I'm slowly getting my mojo back and may even get down to my sewing room soon!

In the meantime, don't forget:
  • Bees In The Attic meets at the Attic Window Quilt Shop on Wednesday morning at 10 a.m
  • The Quilt Block Cookbook BOM meets Monday evening at the AW and also Wednesday morning at 11 a.m.  I'm so anxious to see everyone.  Also, you won't want to miss this group meeting as there is a special prize in store for you.
ON ANOTHER NOTE:
  • I hope I haven't shown this before.  I can't wait to try it.  A Few Scraps has a tutorial and template for a Magic Triangle Block.
