GETTING SOME PRACTICE IN THIS WEEK

  
Hello Quilters!  I just read Barb's blog (Bejeweledquilts by Barb) and have not gotten nearly as many quilting projects done this past week as she has, but I did manage to practice my ruler quilting and free motion quilting.  Recently, while at the Attic Window Quilt Shop, I picked up the Fiddle Dee Dee charm pack by Moda.  I love the fabric.  Then I got the book Third Time's A Charm by That Patchwork Place and decided to make the pattern Ursula.  I love how it went together, but couldn't make up my mind how to quilt it.
 
So, I decided I would practice doing some ruler quilting and some free motion quilting.  I'm not happy with my quilting, but I did get in a lot of practice and was happy with that. What is it they say about practice - Practice makes perfect! But no one said how much practice.  I worked for days on this. I learned a lot and that is the important thing.  I just have to get in more practice.  Despite my sloppy quilting, I think this will be a nice table topper.  The fabric is so beautiful, I doubt anyone will pay attention to the quilting, at least I hope not. Looking forward, I thought I would take this time of staying home to get more practice, but maybe on some of my scrap fabric.  Practice, practice, practice.

 PLEASE NOTE:The Paper Piecing Bee will NOT meet next week, Wednesday, Mar 25.  We do hope you will do some paper piecing at home and send pictures so we can show them on the blog.

This is a happy, colorful, cheerful table topper. Perfect for the times. You are right, no one will notice the detail in quilting, just the overall quilted look. It looks great on my computer screen. Whoever would have guessed that we would actually get a month of Sundays! Be safe.

I have to tell ya that I love love love this quilt. The colors are so bright and fun and your quilting is just perfect even tho you are not happy with it. I was shocked to see my name but thanks for the shout out.
