HAVE YOU MASTERED MACHINE APPLIQUE?

LeeAnne has a BOM at the Attic Window Quilt Shop.  Her machine applique is so beautiful and perfect.  I can never get mine to look like that, and so far, all I have accomplished is only the first month's block.  So I decided I needed to take a class from an expert.  Chris, shop owner, is not only a great teacher, but her background is in machine applique.  I took her class yesterday and learned so much from her.  Now that I know the little tricks and special techniques, I have to practice those squares and circles and curves.  You know what they say: Practice makes perfect!
Another great aspect to being at the Attic Window Quilt Shop is seeing old friends and what is new at the shop.  I got to see Julie who teaches the doll making class every Thursday.  She showed me her latest quilt.  I love the colors in this Snail's Tail quilt.  She is planning on quilting it herself on her domestic machine.  It is beautiful!
Also while at the shop, I got to see some of the new Glow In the Dark fabrics.  Above are Orange Skeletons that Glow In the Dark, a coordinating plaid, and an orange print.  These are by Henry Glass.
This is a close up of the Glow In The Dark Skeletons.
These fabrics are called Castle Spooky and are from Lewis and Irene.  The bottom fabric is Black with Bats.  The Orange Ghosts and the Blue Pumpkins both Glow In The Dark.
I also got to see some of the new items in at the shop.  These embroidered pieces were stitched by Kathy Bagin.  So cute!

Another lovely wall hanging embroidered by Kathy.

And Kathy made this beautiful Wool applique piece!

NOTICE!    The new calendar for September is on the side bar.  There are a number of new classes and events planned.  And there is a Free Motion club being formed, so I'm eager to join that.  You won't want to miss the Stitch-In and Pizza Party on the 17th.  And, I hope you will want to attend the class I'm teaching on how to make a scrappy table topper.  Check out the calendar and call the shop to register for a class.

Don't forget, the Special at the shop this month is Buy One Book at regular price and get a second book for 30% off.  What a deal!

Be sure and stop in at the Attic Window Quilt Shop and check out all the new items.  The shop is open Monday-Friday, 10-5; Saturday, 10-4.

Hugs, Caroll
