At first I thought I would make a pinwheel quilt out of all those scraps, but when I saw another post on Sewn Up about all the things you can do with HSTs, I thought about all the multitude of quilts I can make from these scraps. You can check it out here.
I also played at making some blocks from Katja Marek's new book The New Hexagon2. I didn't know if I wanted to make a table runner or a full quilt, so I decided on these little tablemats.
This is a closeup so you can see the simple quilting.
I also made the first block of Jennifer Jangles sew along. You can find the February block here. These are so cute and easy.
I finally put the borders on this charity quilt and it has been hanging on the frame for a month while I try to figure out how to quilt it. Any suggestions? Please notice that the center squares are "made" fabric. Whoopeee! I used up some scraps.
ATTENTION: Have you ever fantasized of having time to sew all day, just sew. You can do that, not for just one day but three! Check out the February calendar on the sidebar. Join the Sew Bluesy Weekend at the Attic Window Quilt Shop at the end of the month and you can sew on February 28 and 29, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. two days in a row and from 9 to 5 on Sunday. What a wonderful way to get rid of those February blues! Reserve your space now by calling the Attic Window Quilt Shop!

WOW, great scrap projects, Caroll! I just love your colorful made fabric pieces. I think they make awesome pinwheel blocks. I love the one you show. Of course I’m partial to pinwheels. The other blocks with HSTs are bright, bold and so cute also. Then there is your first block of your sew along! I REALLY LOVE that block! And your charity quilt is so bright and happy. I always love how black makes colors really pop. You’ve been having loads of fun. And that’s as it should be!
Wonderful scrappy ideas, love the quilt and inspiration of your post.
