Hello Quilters! Recently some fellow quilters sent me pictures of their accomplishments. They haven't been just sitting around twiddling their thumbs! You will probably see the above quilt soon when we Happy Scrappers can meet again at the Attic Window Quilt Shop. Cathy M. has been working hard during this "stay at home" time.
Cathy took part in the Bee In My Bonnet Granny's Garden Sew Along, which started in early October. She made four blocks a week. The quilt above has thirty of those blocks in it.
Cathy is using the other ten blocks, of the remaining 12, to make this unique wall hanging. This is Cathy's original idea. How cute!
Above is one of the blocks. This quilt is stunning and I can't wait to see it in person. Thanks Cathy for sharing with us.
Marjorie, our reader from Utah, sent us this picture of her latest finish. This is what she said:
"This is what I have been doing. I finished the Daisy
Chain. Cutting the strips 2-1/2. Worked out great; made the center blocks
6-1/2. So everything fit perfectly.
My design wall isn't big enough so I
photographed it on the floor .The backing is the bright lime green with yellow
bananas.
The middle blocks were supposed to have left and
right facing monkeys. But I didn't want all those monkeys so I cut the cherries instead. I have one monkey block!
My next project needs to be my state fair
challenge quilt. I am reluctant to start because many of the county fairs
are being cancelled. So the state fair could be cancelled if the virus
persists.
Stay safe my friends and keep the faith that
this virus will be tamed soon.
Happy stitching from Utah."
Thank you Marjorie for sharing your beautiful quilt with us. I can't imagine all the work that went into making that quilt!
