I've been hunkered down in my sewing room this weekend and forgot all about showing you more pictures of what I found at the Attic Window Quilt Shop. Above, is another adorable bag made by Marilyn.  This is a smaller version of the Poppins bag.
Check out all the pockets on the inside.
This is the fabric that Marilyn used to make the bag.  It is Poppy Meadows by Henry Glass & Co.  By the way, Marilyn will be teaching you how to make this bag on Friday, March 20th.  Call the shop to register and get a supply list.
Marilyn also made this gorgeous quilt from a panel.
This is a closeup of one of the smaller blocks that is another panel for a book.  The fabric is Flutter by Susybee.

Sally J. made this box and the pieces inside as a sample for the shop.  The little box and the squares inside are made from a panel.

This is a section of the panel. The fabric is Henry Glass ABC123.

This is another close up of the darling panel.  Stop in at the Attic Window Quilt Shop today and pick up this panel and make a great gift for a child.

I'VE GONE TO THE DOGS

Recently, I walked into the Attic Window Quilt Shop and fell in love with this panel.  Pound Hounds is by RJR and these dogs with the bright background spoke to me.  I think this one is saying, “I’m may be fluffy but I’m cute.”
This one seems to be saying, "Oh, that was fun. Wonder what mischief I can get into next.”
“Wanna play?
“Motherhood is exhausting.”
“Please…please…pick me.”
“You want me to do what where?”

What are these dogs saying to you?  I bet you could come up with funnier and cuter sayings.  Leave a comment and let us all know.  Better still, stop in at the shop and pick up this darling panel.  Not only would it make a wonderful quilt, but you could use each block and make lots of pillows or wallhangings.  What a great gift… a dog you don’t have to walk.

Love Laugh Quilt has a tutorial for a haphazard pineapple.  You’ll love it.

IS SUMMER THE TIME TO THINK ABOUT WINTER?

This is just one block of a new Moda panel that is in at the Attic Window Quilt Shop. It seems funny to be thinking about snowmen and Christmas when here in Michigan the weather forecasters are predicting 90 deg heat this weekend. Wow! Maybe working on this winter panel will help you to stay cool!

Above are some of the Moda Christmas fabrics in at the Attic Window Quilt Shop.

Also in at the shop are these Christmas fabrics are by Hoffman.

There are also new patterns in the shop that will help you get ready for the holidays. You can’t make these things overnight, you know. These patterns are part of the Long n' Lean series by Geralyn Powers. Aren’t they cute!
.

DOESN'T THIS MAKE YOU GIGGLE?

+++++++
I stopped at the Attic Window Quilt Shop today and found so many new things to tell you about that I didn’t know where to start. So, I’m starting here. This whimsical dinosaur is one block on the panel by Whistlepig Creek Productions. It is so cute. On their website they say our goal is to make you giggle! I think they have succeeded!

This is the entire panel. The pattern is One Billion B.C. Quilt and you can pick up the pattern and the panel at the Attic Window Quilt Shop. I love panels. They are quick and easy to make for that gift you need in a hurry. Better do it before they are all gone.
.
Hyacinth Quilt Designs has some free patterns for you. Check out these blooming button flowers.

Be sure and stop back soon to see the other new things at the Attic Window Quilt Shop.

THINGS MY MOTHER TOLD ME

My mother used to clean house every spring, from top to bottom, washing walls, cleaning wallpaper, changing drapes, etc. When I became an adult, I complained that not all that really was necessary any more since we no longer heated our house with coal, which spewed soot everywhere. I was thankful I did not have to wad up balls of wallpaper paste or change drapes every season. I was thankful for so many things, but my mother still insisted, “Caroll, you need to do a deep cleaning at least once a year.” This week it finally dawned on me, rippled through my thick brain and stuck, just why I need to do as my mother said.
.
While trying to sort out my sewing room, I found an “It’s A Girl” panel that I had started to put together years ago. I have never cared for panels. It seemed like cheating to me. Besides, I was new to piecing and could not make it look like I thought it should, so I put it aside. When I found it the other day, I knew I had to finish it. At a recent baby shower for my granddaughter, I had given her bumper pads and a blanket in just the same soft yellow and purple colors. I ran upstairs, excited about my find and showed it to my mother, explaining to her what happened, how I had put it away and forgotten about it. The Biggest-Flirt-in-the-World shook her head sadly, heaved a big where-did-I-go-wrong sigh and said, “It’s no wonder you don’t have a man.”
.
Undaunted, I reminded myself that I had so much to be thankful for and that I’d rather be quilting than cleaning and put it on the frame and finished the darn thing. Don’t think it turned out too awful terrible, do you? It is going it the mail to her tomorrow. Hope she likes it. Now about that spring-cleaning…..I’ll think about that in the spring

Val Laird has free BOM stitchery patterns with the theme of What Love Is. You have to click around on the site but you can find where you can download all of them.
