HAPPY SCRAPPERS MEET AND LEARN

The Happy Scrappers met at the Attic Window Quilt Shop today.  We had some show-n-tell before we got down to business.  Above, Marilyn shows us her latest finish.  She took a class and learned how to turn a picture into a stitchery.
This is a closeup of her picture.  This is all fabric and stitches.  Beautiful!
Mary showed us her latest finish.  It is for a relative.  The fabric has various tools on it and as I recall she said the relative was a carpenter.  She bought this as a kit from the Attic Window Quilt Shop.  I love the vibrant colors.
She purchased another kit from the shop and has started on it.  She'll probably have it all finished for us to see at our next meeting.  She sure gets a lot done!
Now it was time to get down to business.  I told you here that Adrienne was going to show all the fun you can have with scraps of fabric and dryer sheets.  Above is a picture of her demonstration board.  She showed us the various ways we can cut our blocks after sewing our fabric to the dryer sheet.
This is just one way you can assemble your blocks.
This was another way.  Adrienne suggested you might use this as a border.
During the day, Adrienne made lots of blocks.  Above she demonstrated one way you can place your blocks in your quilt.
This is another way, the one that everyone liked best.  I was amazed at how looking through the camera really brought out the designs.

A special thank you to Adrienne for showing us how to make a fun quilt, use our scraps, and use those good smelling dryer sheets.

Speaking of scraps, Mary said that she turns the light on in her closet and leaves it on all night in the hopes those scraps will stop multiplying!  "I don't think it's working," she confided as she shook her head in dismay.  (LOL)
