Obviously these blocks were not large enough for a quilt. but I could make three table toppers or put them together and make a table runner. I thought about using this strip between each block.
Then I decided to sew the three large blocks together like above and...
I will use this bottom piece of fabric for binding. As you may know, my piecing skills leave a lot to be desired. I struggled with this. Since some of the blocks were sewn by different people and on different machines, I had a difficult time getting them all sized the same. Also, some of the blocks were put together differently. You may have noticed how the red center squares are not in the same place.
Anyway, I think it will make a nice table runner and who looks that close anyway. Maybe I can practice some FMQ on it.
Thanks Chris for the blocks and fabric! This has been a fun challenge.

Caroll, this table runner looks great! You set the differing blocks in a pleasing arrangement. Your addition of the black & white plaid for your binding is a perfect finish. Oh, I do love a black, white & red mix. I think you’re right too, who is going to notice the odd arrangements of the little red squares...no one!
