Marjorie also has a question for you. "How do you keep white fabric from fraying as you sew it into blocks and borders? I have used two different white fabrics in my last two quilts and had to cut off handfuls of frayed threads when finished."

That IS an interesting question! I´ve never had that problem before, or never noticed it as such. Might be unique to certain weaves, like homespun or rather loosely woven fabric? Maybe once the blocks have been pieced, and using a low tension/slightly on the looser side thread, zigzag along the white edges or all around the block? Marjorie’s sheep quilt is adorable! So is her double cross quilt. I really like the colorful crosses with the low volume background. I don’t know the answer to fraying white fabric. I imagine one has to handle fraying fabric carefully.
